Actor TK Dlamini will be taking a hiatus from acting to prepare for his new venture, becoming a father.
Uzalo fans were shocked to see one of their most loved characters, Mastermind Maphumulo, gunned down by a police brigade in an episode which aired on Tuesday, 7 August. Many viewers have since speculated that actor Ntokozo ‘TK’ Dlamini may be making his exit from the show. Dlamini has now confirmed that he will be taking a break from television to focus on becoming a parent and on his construction and events businesses.
On Wednesday, Dlamini retweeted a statement about his break from the screen. The tweet reads, “Actor and Business man @TK_DEE … hints he will be taking time off tv to welcome his daughter & focus more on his events & construction business & does not rule out new tv work as some tv shows have been knocking at his door for a while now .. simfisela okuhle kodwa #mastermind.”
TK Dlamini broke into the local television industry in 2014 after landing the role of Mastermind on Uzalo. He initially auditioned to play the character Mxolisi, but was cast as Mastermind instead. He also owns an events company called TKD Holdings, and a construction company called Sokhulu D Constructions. He is expecting his first child with actress Jessica Nkosi.
