Stellenbosch FC won promotion back to the Absa Premiership after been crowned National First Division Champions at the Idas Valley Stadium on Sunday.
Stellies were held to a 0-0 draw by Maccabi which was enough to see them return to top-flight football after second-placed Royal Eagles were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Ubuntu Cape Town.
Steve Barker’s charges came into the tie on 55 points, two behind Eagles on 53, and needed just a point in order to secure first place and they did just that.
Eagles will be joined by Tshakuma Tsha Madzivhandila, who defeated Richards Bay 2-0, in the promotion playoffs.
Despite their narrow 1-0 win over Eagles, Ubuntu saw themselves join Witbank Spurs as they got relegated to the ABC Motsepe League.
The promotional playoffs will start on Wednesday, 15 May.
