South African Players Based Abroad

1 min read

Following the return of club football after another international break, it was a quiet weekend for our South African contingency abroad.

Thulani Serero

The Bafana Bafana man was on the winning side as Vitesse Arnhem recorded their second win on the trot with a 3-1 victory over Willem II in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Siphiwe Tshabalala

“Shabba” notched up his second start of the season for his Turkish outfit Erzurumspor as they narrowly defeated Antalyaspor 1-0.

Lars Veldwijk

Veldwijk featured for the entire match for Sparta Rotterdam in the second division as they played to a 0-0 stalemate against PSV Eindhoven II.

Percy Tau

Despite his last minute goal for Bafana Bafana in midweek against Paraguay, Tau was unable to help his side claim maximum points as Union Saint-Gilloise played to a goalless draw against Kurt Abrahams’ Westerlo.

Lebogang Mothiba

Lebo was on the losing side for his French Ligue 1 outfit RC Strasbourg as they narrowly went 1-0 to Nimes.

Keaghan Jacobs

Jacobs featured for the entire full minutes as Livingston succumbed to a heavy 3-0 defeat to Glascow Rangers, who are managed by Liverpool great Steven Gerrard, in the Scottish Premier League .

Lebogang Phiri

The Bafana Bafana midfielder made his fourth appearance of the season for Guingamp in French Ligue 1 but could do little to help his side as they went down 2-1 to Reims to see them anchor the base of the league table, three points shy of Monaco.
