South African Players Based Abroad

Mzansi players continue to fly the SA flag high abroad and were in impressive form at the weekend.

Dino Ndlovu

The Bafana Bafana marksman scored his 19th goal of the season, by converting from the penalty spot as Zheijang Greentown defeated Meizhou Meixian Techand 1-0. A win next weekend will see Ndlovu’s team secore promotion into the Chinese Super League.

Percy Tau

Tau scored a superb winning goal for his Belgium outfit Union Saint-Gilloise as they rallied from 2-0 down to secure a dramatic 3-2 win over Tubize. The former Mamelodi Sundowns man provided an assist for the equalizing goal before he netted the winner deep in stoppage time.

Lebogang Mothiba

The lanky striker featured the entire 90 minutes for his French outfit RC Strasbourg in their 1-1 draw against Lebogang Phiri’s Guingamp.

Kamohelo Mokotjo

“Kamo” saw little game time after being stretched off the pitch after just 30 minutes in their 1-0 defeat to Norwich City in the English Championship.

Siphiwe Tshabalala

Shabba was involved in a bizarre situation for Erzurumspor after coming on with just 15 minutes left in the game. The former Kaizer Chiefs midfield maestro was substituted barely six minutes on the pitch after a teammate was sent off, with the match ending in a 1-1 draw against Kasimpasa.

Thulani Serero

Cream played for 90 minutes for his Dutch Eredivisie outfit Vitesse Arnhem who recorded a 2-1 win over Fortuna Sittard.

Lars Veldwijk

The forgotten Bafana Bafana striker bagged a brace (his seventh and eighth league goals of the season) in 11 appearances, as Sparta Rotterdam claimed a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Telstar.

Rhoda Mulaudzi

The Banyana Banyana striker helped her Australian side Canberra United record a 2-0 win over Melbourne City Women in the Westfield Women’s League. Mulaudzi’s Banyana teammate Refiloe Jane provided the assist for the goal.
