Neymar’s move to Real Madrid could be more concrete than many first thought, after his dad has reportedly had dinner with President Florentino Perez to discuss a potential €250million (£220million) deal.
The Paris Saint-Germain superstar is less than six months into his £600,000-a-week deal – following the world-record £198million move from Barcelona in the summer – but is already said to be unsettled in the French capital.
Recent reports have suggested that the Brazilian is highly sought after by the Real President as a potential long-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Speculation surrounding Neymar’s move to former rivals Real Madrid has intensified
And, according to Diario Gol, his father, Neymar Sr, has had dinner with the Los Blancos chief to iron out a potential deal. A deal that would break the record-fee held by the man himself.
According to the Spanish news publication, while Neymar is hoping for a move away from the Parc des Princes at the end of his first season in Paris, he may have to wait until the summer of 2019 to secure his move.
‘Neymar Sr promised the President of the Real that he would put as much pressure as possible on Nasser Al- Khelaïfi to let his son escape this summer,’ Diario Gol wrote.
‘You have my word,’ Neymar Sr said according to the reports.

Talk of the former Barcelona star joining their El Classico rivals has divided opinion, with former team-mate Luis Suarez dismissing the claims.
‘Not at all. Honestly, I don’t see it,’ Suarez told Marca earlier this month. ‘I know what Neymar is like and the admiration he had for Barcelona and his teammates.
‘I don’t see him now going to play for Real Madrid.’
