Absa Premiership title-contenders Orlando Pirates dominated the PSL monthly awards for the second time this season, cleaning sweep all three awards for the month of March.

The trio of Milutin Sredojevic and players Musa Nyatama and Justin Shonga were crowned the coach, player and goal of the month winners respectively.

“Micho” won his second coach of the month award for the season after guiding the Buccaneers to two wins, where they scored five goals during the month of March. The Serbian tactician has also built a strong combination and partnership with his technical bench that has seen the club produce great results, leading them to their current second spot on the PSL standings.

Sredojevic, who is now in his second spell at the helm of the Soweto giants, beat off stiff competition from Maritzburg United’s Fadlu Davids and Luc Eymael of Free State Stars.

In the Player of the Month category, Nyatama, who had a superb month where he picked up back-to-back Man of the Match awards, was rewarded for his fine exploits by being named the best player. The former Bloemfontein Celtic man pipped teammates Thembinkosi Lorch and Luvuyo Memela as well as Siphesihle Ndlovu from the Team of Choice to the accolade.

Zambian international forward Shonga wrapped up the awards as his stunning long range scorcher against Chippa United captured the most votes for the Absa Premiership Goal of the Month.

Pirates piled further pressure on leaders Mamelodi Sundowns following their hard fought 2-1 win over Phunya Sele Sele at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday evening.
