Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that the club has been given the greenlight to register and field new signing, Andriamirado ‘Dax’ Andrianarimanana, by FIFA’s Players’ Status Committee.
The 27-year-old Madagascan international was expected to get his clearance finalised during the international break following a move from Fosa Juniors in his home country, and could now be poised to make his long-awaited debut for the Glamour Boys when they take on Cape Town City this weekend.
A statement on Chiefs’ official website read, “The delay in the player’s registration follows a complaint laid by Dax’s former club Fosa Juniors FC wherein they claimed that they had not been approached by Kaizer Chiefs for the player’s signature because he was still contracted to them.”
The club’s football manager, Bobby Motaung, said, “We feel vindicated and are happy the matter has been resolved. What’s important for us is that the player can now focus on his football and doing well for us.”
Dax will don the number six jersey which has previously been worn by veteran midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane.
