Scandal! actress Majorie Langa insists that she does not resent her father and that she still loves him‚ despite the fact that she was “rejected” by him.
During an interview with Move!‚ the actress opened up about her rocky relationship with her dad‚ claiming that he was not there for most of her childhood.
“I was raised by the women in my family‚ while my father was nowhere to be found. I was told that he wanted nothing to do with me. I do not resent him for not being there for me‚” she told the local publication.
She revealed that her father gave “her the cold shoulder” recently‚ when they were reunited. Apart from admitting that she was “disappointed” with how her dad received her‚ she asserted that she still loves him regardless‚ because he is her father at the end of the day.
“I recently tried looking for him‚ but did not get joy as he gave me the cold shoulder.
“Even though he rejected me‚ I still love him because he is my father. But I have made the decision not to bother him anymore‚ as he clearly does not want to have a relationship with me‚” she explained.
Marjorie joins a long list of local celebs who have grown up without their biological fathers‚ including Kelly Khumalo.
Speaking to Sizwe Dhlomo in a tell-all interview on MTV’s Behind The Story: Kelly Khumalo earlier this year‚ the songstress opened up about her childhood — revealing that she grew up not knowing her father.
“I don’t know the dude‚” Kelly said when asked why she has never mentioned her father before.
She explained that while her biological father was absent during her upbringing‚ she had a father figure — who she had a “confusing relationship” with‚ before pointing out that even though her mom would not disclose substantial details about her paternity‚ she had always known that he was not her real father.
