ROMAN’S CAR EMPIRE: Roman Abramovich’s amazing fleet of motors worth £16million

CHELSEA owner Roman Abramovich may is currently banned from re-entering the United Kingdom – owing to the British Government’s ongoing feud with Roman’s pal Vladimir Putin.

Despite his mass wealth, tension between Downing Street and the Kremlin means the Russian billionaire hasn’t had his visa renewed since it expired in April.

Pagani Zonda R, £2.5million

The jewel in the crown, only 15 of these beauties have ever been made.

It is not road legal and can only be driven around the track, with Abramovich’s Zonda on show at a private track day in Germany’s famous Nurburgring in 2016.

Porsche 911 GT1 Evo, £1.7m

Another track only car, the GT1 is a classic race car from the mid-1990s.

Capable of 205mph, one recently sold at auction for £2.3m.

Ferrari FXX, £1.6m

Roman loves cars that are made for the track.

The FXX was built in 2005 as a special prototype, with only 30 made.

The gorgeous-looking car later went into street-legal production, becoming the Ferrari Enzo.

Bugatti Veyron, £1.5m

The car that every serious collector has to own.

The German-French built hypercar held the record for the fastest street-legal car ever built.

Capable of an eye-watering 267mph.

Aston Martin Vulcan, £1.2m

The limited edition, track-only Aston Martin was launched in 2015 – with only 24 made around the world.

The carbon-fibre racer does 0-60mph in 2.9secs and a top speed 224mph.

At a cost of around £1.2m when it was launched (it’ll be worth more now), owners aren’t even allowed to drive it without permission form the supercar manufacturer.

Maserati MC12 Corsa, £1.1m

Another car not meant for the road, the Maserati shares the same chassis as the Ferrari Enzo but is much larger and lower.

Only 12 of these beauties were made in demand after the car won the 2005 GT Manufacturers Cup – the cars were not used for research and development, but purely “in response to customer demand,” according to Edward Butler, GM of Maserati.

Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR, £1m

The mid-90s stunner was built for endurance racing, like Le Mans, and was one of the cars seen at Abramovich’s famous Nurgburgring track day.

The car is much-loved by petrolheads and was a winner in both the 1997 and 1998 FIA GT World Championships.

Maybach 62 Limousine, £1m each

Mr Abramovich owns two of these tanks.

We don’t use the word tank lightly, the car weighs nearly three tonnes.

This is the car the chauffeur-driven Chelsea owners uses most often – and he’s made sure he’s fully covered.

He’s customised his two to offer complete protection.

Lamborghini Reventon, £840,000

Another rarity, the two-door Lambo was launched in 2007 with only 21 of them being made worldwide – 20 of those for sale and the final one to go in the Lamborghini museum.

Controversial Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov is another owner.

Ferrari 488 GT3,  £675,000

This is a track-only car version of the Ferrari 488, another used for endurance racing.

Abramovich sports a navy blue edition of the car.

Porsche Carrera GT, £650,000

Not quite as rare as some of the other cars on this list, the Carrera GT was still part of a limited production run.

It was produced between 2003 and 2007 with 1,270 made available worldwide.

A firm favourite in the motoring world, it was consistently named one of the best cars of the 2000s and placed No 8 on the best sports cars of all-time by Sports Car International.

Rolls-Royce Corniche, £600,000

The 1993 convertible, in royal blue, is one of a kind.

Corniches can fetch more than £100,000 on today’s market, if they are in mint condition.

So why is Roman’s so special?

Specially created by the Irish government for the visit of Pope John Paul II in 1979, Abramovich paid a then-record £285,000 to get his hands on it in 2006.

It’s now estimated to be worth £500,000 – a shrewd investment.

Mercedes-Benz AMG GT3, £300,000

Based on the AMG GT supercar, this track-only beast was introduced in 2015.

Capable of 206mph, the car also features the classic gullwing doors, pioneered by the 300 SL in the 1950s.

Roman’s is silver and was whipped around the Nurburgring with other parts of his collection.

Much cheaper than the other Ferraris on this list, but considered a modern classic, this was the Ferrari Abramovich had when he first rocked up in London in 2003.
