Johannesburg – Robert Marawa has always been the darling in the sports industry, but this year the public saw him in a different light after his baby-mamma, Zoe Mthiyane penned an open letter to her ex, accusing him of neglecting their son.
In a series of allegations against him, Zoe said that she had tried, without luck, to get him involved in their child’s life.
Up until now, Robert has remained silent, only saying that it is a legal matter.
He even kept quite when court documents apparently revealed that Robert earns a whopping R300K a month, yet is allegedly paying R200 maintenance for their child.
The details have people divided, with some criticising Robert’s so called less than generous contributions, while other’s slammed Zoe and her ‘exorbitant’ demands.
Now Robert has spoken for the first time to Drum magazine.
“I love my son very much. He is my everything. He is the one human being who inspires me to get out of bed every morning.”
Speaking about all the money claims doing the rounds, Robert insists they are not true.
“I have never seen that amount (R300k) in my life. But i have decided to ignore all this stuff. I have two individuals who are fighting me, but in the end I am going to be vindicated. I have been paying for my child’s maintenance since day one,” he apparently told the magazine.
Sources close to Robert have told The Juice that all of the drama is taking its toll on the sport personality, saying he has become very ‘quiet and distance.
