Pearl Thusi’s latest big-screen starring role is as a Nubian princess in the fifth Scorpion King instalment.
Pearl Thusi has been making waves in Hollywood circles since she was cast in season two of crime-drama series Quantico. Thusi has now gone on to bag a starring role in the fifth instalment of the Scorpion King series, titled Scorpion King: Book of Souls. Thusi plays Tala, a Nubian princess who joins forces with the Scorpion King, played by Zach McGowan, to find a mythical relic known as ‘The Book of Souls’, which will put an end to an evil warlord.
Thusi took to social media on Friday to announce the DVD, digital and Blu-Ray release date for the film. She posted the trailer for the film and wrote, “ANOTHER ONE!!!! 🎞🖤🦂🎥🙏🏽.Are you ready!?? @scorpionkingmovie.” The release date for the film is 23 October 2018.
The director of Scorpion King: Book of Souls, Don Michael Paul had Thusi in mind for the role of Tala from the get go. Thusi said of the director, “He had me in mind for the lead role from the very beginning and that was crazy. I came in to audition for a different role, and he told me ‘No, you’re Tala.’ He is so lovely to work with. It’s always a very enriching experience. He really believes in me, and I just want to make him proud.” The two worked together previously on Tremors 5: Bloodlines, which was Thusi’s first international film.
