MTN8 1/4 Report: Sundowns 2-0 Arrows – Masandawana Prove Too Strong For Abafana Bes’thende

PSL champions Mamelodi Sundowns proved too strong for Golden Arrows as they cruised to a 2-0 win in their MTN8 quarterfinal clash at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
It was a rather torrid start from both sides, and it took 40 minutes for the game to register its first goal.
Sibusiso Vilakazi poked the ball into the top corner after a clever build-up play from the home side.
Pitso Mosimane’s side dominated possession throughout most of the match and were not really caused problems by Arrows who only switched into gear at the start of the second half.
The Brazilians soon doubled their lead through Wayne Arendse after been on the end of a pin-point cross from Man of the Match, Gaston Sirino.
Masandawana took things slow with the clock winding down as they held on to easily beat the KZN outfit and into the last four.
