DJ Sbu arrested for drinking and driving

CONTROVERSIAL businessman and axed Metro FM radio personality, “DJ Sbu” is swimming in hot water – AGAIN.

Sbusiso Leope was nabbed yesterday in Randfontein – after he was allegedly found driving his white Porsche while drunk.

Kaya FM broke the story about his arrest.

According to sources, Sbu was driving home from a party in Westonaria on the West Rand. Cops pulled him over at 4am.

A police source said:

“He was driving recklessly, speeding and skipping red traffic lights on Main Reef Road in Randfontein CBD.

“A high-speed chase ensued and he was cornered. He started throwing his weight around, telling them that he was DJ Sbu.

“He was reeking of alcohol when he was stopped and the police advised him to come to the cop shop so he could take a nap.

“But he started throwing tantrums. His car was impounded and kept at Randfontein, and he is in custody at Krugersdorp cop shop,” said the police source.

Last September we reported that DJ Sbu was nabbed in Pretoria for speeding on the N2 North, clocking 176km/h in a black Range Rover.

When the SunTeam called DJ Sbu’s business partner TK Nciza, he told us: “I don’t know anything – call DJ Sbu.”

Gauteng police spokesman Captain Tsekiso Mofokeng confirmed that DJ Sbu was in custody.

Captain Mofokeng said: “He was arrested for drunk driving and was taken to the police holding cells.”

He added: “At this time we cannot divulge the level of alcohol in this person’s blood.”

By the time Sunday Sun was going to print, the SunTeam was aware that DJ Sbu was still blinking behind bars and trying hard to sober up.
