Arsenal Snap Up South African-Based Nigerian Youngster

English Premier League giants Arsenal have snapped up a nine-year old wonderkid who they discovered in South Africa.

Nigeria-born Jayden Adetiba spent five weeks trialing with the Gunners and did enough to impress the academy’s bosses.

Adetiba has previously lived in the UK but spent most of his life in SA, where he played for SuperSport United Soccer School.

According to The Sun, Adetiba was quoted saying:

“I thank God and my parents for this. I am very happy.

“I train three times a week at the academy and we have a match at the weekend.

“The amazing week is, I have always been an Arsenal fan and I will work hard every day to make the first team.”

The Nigerian youngster is said to be a fan of Alex Iwobi and comes from a footballing family, with his older having recently signed for Ebbsfleet United Academy after spending three years at the Blackburn Rovers Academy.

Their middle brother is also a footballer and is reportedly signed with a local team.
