50 Cent sued by reality star Teairra Mari for sharing her sex tape on Instagram

50 Cent is being sued by Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood star Teairra Mari for posting sexually explicit images of her on social media.

Teairra, 30, announced in a press conference with lawyer Lisa Bloom that she is filing a lawsuit against 50 and her ex-boyfriend Akbar Abdul-Ahad after a sex tape and sexually explicit images of her were shared on Instagram.

Mari has alleged that Abdul-Ahad broke into her Instagram account last week to post the private images. Her ex-boyfriend then took down the images and video, but not before rapper 50 – real name Curtis Jackson – allegdly reposted the images to his 18 million followers with the caption: ‘Get the strap.’

Instagram removed the images from Jackson’s page, with the 42-year-old rapper claiming he was leaving the platform for being censored.

He wrote: ‘I’m leaving IG, I’m going back to Twitter. They take shit down off my page with out notifying me. #censorthesenuts’; however, he has posted multiple times since then.

Reality star Mari told press: ‘I’m heartbroken. I loved this man [Abdul-Ahad]. He is saying that he didn’t do it, but I know in my heart that he did.

‘Even though I want not to believe the lies, I have to stand up for myself so that people don’t believe that I did it.’

According to Mari, Abdul-Ahad texted her after they broke up saying his phone – which had her sex tape on it – had been stolen. The next day, they were shared on her Instagram account.

At the time, the singer wrote on Instagram: ‘Recently, my social media was compromised by someone I who I felt was deserving of my love and trust. That person proved to be untrustworthy and posted footage of what in the moment was private and sacred.

‘Moving forward, I recognize the need to be more cautious and discerning. My hope is for women to remain strong and dignified when they find themselves having to address hateful and juvenile acts by former lovers who find it difficult to act in an adult manner. Revenge Porn is a crime in California and I will be in pursuit of justice.’ Lisa Bloom said that her client would be suing both men for emotional distress, revenge porn, disclosure of private facts and intrusion into private affairs, and that she is considering filing a police report.

The state of California made it illegal to post nude or sexual images of an individual online with the intent of causing emotional distress in 2013. 50 Cent was previously ordered to pay a woman named Lastonia Leviston $2 million after he posted her sex tape online with himself inserted into it.
